Specific Course Requirements for a High School Diploma Requires 48 credits 4 years of English 1 year of U.S. History 1 semester of American Government 1 semester of Economics 1 year of either World History or World Geography 3 years of Mathematics (including Algebra, Geometry) 1 year of Biology 1 year of Physical Science, Chemistry or Earth Science 1 year of an elective science course 3.5 years of Physical Education 1 semester of Health 2 years of Foreign Language, Art, Music or Vocational
Grade Level Credit Expectations Freshman/9th Grade> 0-11 credits Sophomore/10th Grade> 12-23 credits Junior/11th Grade> 24-33 credits Senior/12th Grade> 34+ credits
What Happens When You Fail a Course Failed courses will NOT be entered into next year’s course requests. Students failing a required course will have to pay to retake the class(es) at Roosevelt Night School, Summer School, or an approved online course. Elective courses matter.
