SIMBOLS OF THE USA

Americans are very sensitive to their national symbols, give them exceptional importance

One of the most famous, respected and recognizable symbols of the US - the US flag

Number of stars indicates the number of states, Number of strips means thirteen states formed a new independent state

A US flag has several common nicknames - "Stars and Stripes", "Banner, star-studded", "Old Glory" and others

Astronaut David Scott salutes the US flag mounted on the surface of the Moon by expedition "Apollo 15", 1971

National anthem of the United States - the song "The Star-Spangled Banner"

Bird-symbol of the United States is the bald eagle

It is believed that the bald eagle symbolizes strength, courage, freedom, and immortality
