Fasting The first pillar of lent is fasting I am going to make this Lenten promise by giving up cheese This is extremely difficult for me because I really love pizza, pasta with cheese on top, and cheese in my sandwiches.

Prayer I am going to continue to prayer every night to God. I will remember to complain less and thank him more. I will also try and get my class to pray more often as well. I will do this through the prayer activity.

Almsgiving (giving to others) With the Luke 4:18 committee that I help run, we will continue to make milk bag mats and aim to deliver some soon. I will continue to work to include those who feel left out.

Conclusion Jesus gave up his life for us in order to free us from sin. This was the ultimate sacrifice and showed how much he loved us. It is important for us to focus on the 3 pillars during lent so that we can remember the love and sacrifice that was made for us. Fasting, prayer and almsgiving brings me closer to God and makes me appreciate all that I have
