God’s Strictness with His Servants “From everyone who has been given much, much will be demanded; and from the one who has been entrusted with much, much more will be asked.” Luke 12:48b

I. Examples of God’s Strictness Moses striking the rock in anger and lack of faith. (Numbers 20:7-13) David bringing the ark to Jerusalem the wrong way and Uzzah touching it. (2 Samuel 6; 1 Chron. 2) Jesus rebuking Peter after Peter’s misguided rebuke. (Matthew 16:23)

II. How to Live as Servants Under God’s Strictness 1. Self-discipline by the Spirit 2. Never take the word of God lightly Know what God’s word says. Fear the Lord. Know the love of God. 3. Remember God’s higher calling 1 Timothy 3:2-4
