Miss Fulena’s 7th & 8th Grade Math

Books – go math common core edition Your child IS supposed to be writing in his/her book! Books can be accessed online (and you can even print a homework page) at my.hrw.com. Make sure you only print the page(s) you want! You will receive a username and password. Email Miss Fulena at ra_fulena@union.k12.pa.us with any trouble accessing the book.

Grading Breakdown 60% Tests & Quizzes 20% Homework 10% Classwork 10% Participation & Preparation Retest Policy: A student scoring below 60% on a test or quiz may schedule extra help during Enrichment or before or after school and retake the test for a maximum score of 60%.

Homework Policy Random homework assignments count for points. Each homework that counts is worth 2 points. Work must be shown to receive credit. Half credit is possible on incomplete assignments if work is shown and at least half of the assignment is complete.

Homework Pass Each student will receive a homework pass. Students can sign it, date it, and indicate the assignment to receive full credit. It may be used as 5 points bonus on a test at the end of the 9-weeks IF there are no zeroes in the homework column. If it is not used during the first 9-weeks, it may carry over to another 9-weeks.

GOOGLE CLASSROOM Each student will receive a code to join their class. Some assignments will be submitted directly through Google Classroom. Grades for those assignements will be returned through Google Classroom AND the regular online grading program.

ASSIGNMENTS Assignments are written on the Assignment Board near the door daily. It is the responsibility of the student to be aware of assignments. Students should check the Assignment Board to see what material was covered while absent, complete the assignment, AND TURN IT IN! Any copied papers that were assigned will be in the make-up crate by the door, sticking up, with the student name and date marked. Make-up tests will not be there. Students needing to complete a test MUST ask for the make-up test. Students have the same number of days as were missed to complete make-up work. Assignments given on the last day present will be due on the first day back.

RESTROOM PASSES Each student receives 3 restroom passes per 9-weeks. They are to be used with discretion. Once students are out of passes or lose them, they will not be permitted to leave during class time. Unused restroom passes may be redeemed for rewards at the end of the 9-weeks. Three new restroom passes will be issued at the beginning of each 9-weeks.

www.Study Island.com Every Day 6 is Study Island Day! Each assignment (sometimes 2 in a day) will receive a 3 point test grade. Full credit will be received for 10 questions done with a blue ribbon. Any student who doesn’t earn the blue ribbon in class on Day 6, will be permitted to continue to work on it at home until 7 AM on the next Day 6. Arrangements can be made to use a school computer before or after school for students who do not have internet access at home.

Problem of the Week A new bonus problem is put up every Monday. Students must copy the entire problem and show work in an attempt to receive 1 bonus point. Correct solutions will receive an additional bonus point. Problems must be submitted by Friday to receive any bonus.
