INTERNAL JOB BULLETIN Closing date: 30/04/2011 JOB TITLE : Cost Controller (Wells). DEPARTMENT : Wells Team AFFECTATION : HMD LINE MANAGER : Wells Engineering Manager RAISON D’ÊTRE OF THE POST The Wells Cost Controller reports to the Wells Engineering Manager. The essential purpose of the job is to be setting up and managing a system for tracking well and contract costs. The position will also be contributing on the yearly Wells budget preparations and other contract/financial management tasks. RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS Cost Engineer: The CC tracks and manages contract values, invoiced amounts and estimates future spend for all Drilling and Completion contracts. The CC needs to have a background in contracts and/or finance discipline and with a good knowledge of drilling activities and equipment. The first task will be to set up a new system which gathers all relevant commercial information for the lifetime of a contract (initial value, current spend, invoices being processed and projected forward spending). This will be implemented for all 25+ contracts of the wells team. Wells Contract adviser: The CC will make sure the approved contract strategy is adhered to. If there is an opportunity to improve service quality or reduce spending this shall be followed up with the Wells team management. The CC will be involved in tendering new contracts, and the evaluation and award process. Invoicing quality control: With the depth knowledge of the contract structure and pricing the CC is an advisor to assist the Wells Technologists in quality control of invoices on Wells Contracts. Wells Contract Auditor: When deemed necessary the CC will be used in auditing vendors on inventories and services invoicing. Cost control training: The CC will provide on the job training within the wells team (rig site and HMD) to make sure the invoicing approvals are according to contract and established practices. SCM and Finance focal point: The CC is the Wells team single point of contact towards the Finance and SCM teams when it comes to Wells contracts. EDUCATION: Baccalaureate level + 3 years (BTS) – Finance or accounting REQUIRED EXPERIENCE: 5+ years relevant experience in and Oil & Gas operating company. REQUIRED PROFESSIONAL AND PERSONAL SKILLS: Track record of setting up and managing a cost tracking system as described here, Speak Arabic , English, French, Computer literate, preferably with database management experience, Maximo knowledge, HSE outstanding awareness, Independent worker but also good team player, Ability to work with multi-nationals.
