Introduction:

Introduction: What Is A Project And Project Management? A project is a problem scheduled for solution.” This definition forces us to recognize that projects are aimed at solving problems and that failure to define the problem properly is what sometimes gets us into trouble. Project management is the planning, scheduling, and controlling of project activities to meet project objectives.

Productivity Rate Definition: A productivity rate is the quantity produced or constructed over a specific time period. Productivity rates may vary considerably depending on project size, geographic location, even for the same item of work.

- Construction scheduling : -To be able to build up a successful schedule. You need to: Define activities Establish activities relationships Assign durations to activities

- Project Constraints Time Cost Quality Scope

Scope of Work: The purpose of this research is to obtaining labor productivity rates for four types of work, which are reinforcement, block work, formwork and masonry work. In general, divide the four type of work into several sections of the work.

Research Problem

Research Problem : We have chosen this study due to a problem exist in our country “none availability of a reference for Palestinian labors` productivity rates”, our aim at this research was to know how to solve this problem in order to produce a reference for Palestinian labors’ productivity rates for Block, reinforcement and masonry

Project objectives : -the main purpose for this research is to help Palestine contractors and engineers by providing a reference for Palestine labor productivity rates for some types of works stone, Plaster, and Tile . - Identify both high and low areas of productivity and reasons for this differences . -Compare performance between sites. -Provide an accessible guide to productivity measurement for those involved in constructing

- The important of the project Labor Productivity rate measurement data can be used by manager for planning to, - Determine the number of workers to be assigned for a task. - Determine the most economic method from alternatives. - Determine the unit rate for various operations . - Provide basis for cost control

Factors Affecting Worker Performance Factors Affecting Labour Productivity Manpower Extreme Temperatures Motivating Hazardous work area Communication Overtime

Improving Productivity There are several approaches to seek improvement of employee productivity Substitution of Equipment for Human Effort. Improved Methods of Work. Removal of Unproductive Practices. Improved Management of Human Resources. Substitution of equipment for human effort has been very popular in the construction industry for many years,

productivity rates measuring The common methods are: observation (work sampling, quantity and stop watch ). secondary data (documents. daily reports. previous project) survey method (questioner and interview ).

productivity rates measuring Different methods of productivity rate measuring serve different purposes. It is important to choose the method that is appropriate to research purposes. All methods should consider some factors that must be recorded to be more accurate and to obtain accurate productivity rates. These are some of those factors : 1) Number of representative sample. 2) Frequency of data. 3) Time interval. 4) Time of taking sample.

probability sampling Simple Random Sampling Stratified Random Sampling Systematic Random Sampling Cluster Random Sampling Mixed/Multi-Stage Random Sampling

Methodology Method Sample size result Select the activities The first step Sample size The second step Method The third step result The forth step

Methodology The first step : Select the activities that will be analyzed and checked for labor productivity rate, which are:   Block 10 cm Floor slab formwork Floor reinforcement Column formwork Column reinforcement Masonry (stone)

Methodology The second step: The stratified random sample is selected in two steps :-   The first is analyzing the original community. In our project the community is building so we divided the community into residential buildings less than 5 floors and this is what we will study, and the residential buildings of more than 5 floors. The second is the random selection of the selected layer . The number of random samples is chosen so that the number of samples is greater than 5% of the layer size. The size of the class is 600 buildings less than 5 floors. Therefore, we distributed 40 questionnaires to all residential buildings less than 5 floors in the West Bank.

Methodology The third step: A visit to the sites then Interviews and question to the Mason and Helper .   The attached table will be filled in each site   The forth step: the result will be analyzed to calculate the productivity rate for each item
