Important Things to Know: What courses are being tested? District EOC Resource Page – Searchable Database https://pasco.instructure.com/courses/246 Principal Approved- Principals will receive communication about this process, all approvals will be due by May 1st Not used for teacher evaluations, can be any form of summative assessment as long as it is aligned to the standards of the course, and teachers can use in the students grades as they see fit. How are they being tested? Computer/Paper District Level Printing of District EOCs and Answer Sheets Accurate Enrollment in TERMS All test documents need to be sent back to District (Office of Accountability, Research, and Measurement) as soon as testing is complete, no later than June 5th. When are they being tested? Testing Window : May 11th-June 3rd Seniors can start testing May 4th-8th Who is being tested? Easiest way to pull rosters is from Pasco STAR. Make sure you are pulling current rosters.
Important Things to Know: Security Considerations Security Agreement All personnel involved in testing needs to complete the online Security Agreement through CANVAS prior to having access to any testing materials. Check-out/Check-in Process It is the expectation that proctors will check-out testing materials no earlier than the morning of their testing session. They will then be expected to check-in all materials by the end of the school day of their testing session. Please have them sign out and in materials, verifying the amount received and returned. (See Materials Sign Out/In Form on District EOC Resource Page) If materials are missing, use Missing Materials Form on District EOC Resource Page to record. Student Security Proctors are expected to read provided script. No electronics should be on a student during their testing period. Treat test as seriously as state testing.
Important Things to Know: FAQs Accommodations It is our expectation that all accommodations a students 504 or IEP are met. Areas of accommodations that we foresee being more difficult to administer in the winter testing window would be those that fall within the Presentation Accommodations and Responding Accommodations sections of the Assessment page of a student’s IEP. Testing Ratio 1:25 – computer, 1:30 – paper Must be at least one certified instructional staff proctoring the assessment. Substitutes Elementary: 2 substitutes for 4 days Middle: 3 substitutes for 4 days High: 4 substitutes for 4 days Education Center Schools: 2 substitutes for 4 days Restrictions on Devices Used The district will not allow the use of iPads for District EOC testing.
Important Things to Know: FAQs Testing Materials Some math/science courses will allow for students to use a calculator and/or Reference Sheet. See list on District EOC Resource Page. If a calculator is allowed, students will be able to use their own or school provided handheld calculator. All reference sheets allowed will be part of the test booklet. Headphones will be required for all performing arts courses, as well as, world languages. Students may use their own or school provided headphones. Scrap paper can be allowed at student request and will be provided by school. This must be collected and sent back with testing materials.
Important Things to Know: Scheduling Considerations Can more than one subject test at the same time in the same room? Yes, as long as the proctor ensures the correct students are taking the correct District EOC. Length of the Testing Periods/Tests Elem: 30 min test/40 min period Middle: 40 min test/50 min period High: 80 min test/90 min period Students Finishing Early Students will be required to remain in the testing environment for the entirety of the testing period. How long does a student have to be in the class to take the District EOC? Use your best judgment as to what will allow us to gather the most useful and accurate data.
Important Things to Know: Unique Scenarios Elementary performance assessments Each student will receive a test booklet Teachers will receive a grade specific script to follow Teachers will grade student work based off of provided rubric Teachers will input grades straight into Performance Mattes (training to come) All courses on the “wheel” with career planning attached will be given a career planning assessment Middle School AVID will require two 50 minute testing periods (40 min. testing each) Speech 2 Each student will receive a test booklet with prompt They will be given time to prepare speech and then present one at a time Teacher will be given procedures document Teacher will grade based off rubric Teacher will input grades straight into Performance Mattes (training to come)
Administering Online

Prior to Testing… Prior to the first day of testing at your school, log into Performance Matters and release the test through the Test Center: Select District EOC as the Assessment Category and click Go. *note that tests will only appear in the Test Center during the designated window* Click on the Test Name to view available options. Use the to release a test for online administration and to un-release the test after administration.
Prior to Testing…. Before a student takes their first online assessment, they should take the Online Assessment (OLA) Tool Test. This test is similar to the e-Pat and teaches students how navigate through the test and use online tools. It also familiarizes both students and teacher with the login process. The tests take approximately 15 minutes to administer. Headphones are required. You cannot administer the OLA Tool Test and the regular assessment during the same class period. Students only need to take the OLA Tool Test once per semester. Your students may have taken it for another class. You can check their status in OLA Student Admin within SAM. Students who have not taken the test will appear in the “Not Started” section. If administration of the OLA Tool Test is not possible, please present the Video Tutorial from the Performance Matters Help Center. Preparing the Lab for Testing Post the generic student computer login information in a visible location: Username: aplus Password: aplus Post a reminder that students must click on the EXIT icon before closing Performance Matters to submit their test.
Student Login Students will first log in to the computer using the generic logins provided: Username: aplus Password: aplus The above logins will take the students to a streamlined desktop. First the student opens the “Spring-like” icon.
Student Log-in This will take them to the Test Launch Page. They will then select the Performance Matters District EOC Icon.
Student Login (cont’d) Log into Performance Matters Student Login: student number example: 312111 Password: district password example: Crazy13# Password is case sensitive with a capitol letter as the first letter of the password.
Student Log-in You can access the student login information from the LDAP synchbridge The School ICT has access to this information Having student login information printed and accessible will make testing day go much smoother!
Testing All available tests will appear on the student’s Welcome Screen. Click on the test name to begin the test.
Summary of Symbols This screen will display a quick summary of the buttons available to students during the test. The test administrator may want to provide a printed page of these buttons for quick reference.
Start Screen The start screen displays the number of questions on the test and any special instructions. Note the Start button.
Navigation Answer each question. Use the Next and Previous buttons to navigate through the questions. In the top right-hand corner are any tools selected to appear for this test.
Pause and Resume If you need to stop the test, but aren’t ready to submit it for scoring, click Pause. You will be taken back to the welcome screen. Click the test name when you are ready to begin again. A summary of where you left off will appear. Just click Start to resume the test.
Finishing the test When you reach the last question on the test, you will see a Stop button. Click Stop after you’ve answered the last question.
Summary of Test Status A summary of your test status will appear, listing any questions left unanswered. Return to an unanswered question by clicking on it.
Testing (cont’d) To submit the test for grading, students must click the EXIT icon in the bottom right corner of the last screen. Once a student clicks EXIT, the test will no longer be available to them. If a student needs to complete a test at a later time, they can click the PAUSE icon.

Testing (cont’d) Once exiting the test, students should log out of Performance Matters by clicking the Log Out icon. Timesaving Tip: When students logout, the log in screen reappears and will be ready for your next class!

After Testing Log-in to Performance Matters and unrelease the test in Test Center at the end of the testing window. You can re-release tests to classes or individual students through Test Center at any time during the testing window.
Housekeeping – VERY IMPORTANT! To verify that all students submitted their tests correctly, log in to Performance Matters and go to OLA Student Admin. SAM->Administration->OLA Student Admin->select the class ->select the test (very important step!) Students who have submitted the test correctly will appear under Finished, Not Loaded or Finished, Loaded. If a student appears in In Progress and they will not be finishing the test at a later time, check their name and click Mark Complete. *note that test results may not be accurate in this view, 24 hours after testing, you can view results in reports*
Administering Paper & Pencil
Prior to Testing All tests and answer sheets will be printed at the district level and distributed to your schools. You will need to organize assessments by proctor/testing room to be distributed. If you need additional blank answer sheets for any reason, please see process on the next slide.

Select the first icon, which appears to be a blank piece of paper. Student must fill-in and bubble student id.
Helpful Tips Please remind students not to fold, bend, staple the answer sheet. Students should not make any stray marks on the paper. If students mark in the QR code area, the answer sheet will not scan! Students can use any writing utensil (pen/pencil).

After Testing All materials will be sent back to the district, to the Office of Accountability, Research, and Measurement. Please box answer sheets separately from test booklets and any other additional resources. Keep answer sheets sorted by course.
