YEMEN CRISIS APPEAL 2016 ‘Evening, morning and noon I cry out in distress, and he hears my voice’ Psalm 55:17

Yemen is a country in crisis. More than 18 Yemen is a country in crisis. More than 18.8 million people urgently need humanitarian assistance – that’s over three-quarters of the population.

A civil war has left thousands of innocent civilians dead and many don’t have access to safe water, food, healthcare or sanitation.

Tearfund partners are currently working to provide basic hygiene and sanitation packs for some of the most vulnerable people…

This is vital to alleviate the risk of deadly disease and prevent its spread. Please pray.

PLEASE PRAY Pray and petition God for peace in Yemen so that those who are suffering can receive the help they need. Pray for the safety of all our partners working in Yemen as they help with providing humanitarian assistance. Pray for peaceful periods in conflict-affected areas during which time the distribution of hygiene kits can be given out.

PLEASE PRAY For family and friends of partner staff who are in Yemen – pray for strength and comfort as they deal with this devastating situation Pray that there will be a successful scale-up of the work as people respond Ask God for discernment and wisdom for the UK government as we consider our response as a nation Pray for safe transport for all those delivering medical supplies and that they will reach those in desperate need.

Father God, We pray for the people of Yemen. We ask you to be with them, to comfort them. May they know your presence, Lord. We pray for those who are hungry, ill, and bereaved. Give them your peace and strength today. Lord, please protect and strengthen Tearfund’s partners in Yemen as they follow your lead and help those in greatest need. May they shine your love and your hope into even the darkest and most desperate situations. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen
