So what is in our city currently Within our city there are various issues some of which are major but also there are good points Good points about our city Bad points about our city Wealthy people with access to health and education. Inequality between males and females and rich and poor Poor have little access to education/health system Lots of available workers and these are mainly young males who are the most eager to seek work There is heavy pollution in the water and no sanitary conditions at water stations, sulphuric acid issue Great potential to grow as very undeveloped in areas Often power cuts and no sustainable power source Lots of active people, therefore physical exercise isn’t an issue Lack of appropriate housing Lots of industries within our city Unfertile land, no farming or building available to be done Low population so no heavy demand on resources Lots of stray dogs in the area Roads/streets are very busy and dangerous in some areas

The main points we are going to focus on within the first 5 years Pollution and the mass amount of chemicals being dumped in the water source Stray dog issue as this is hazardous to health and can be easily dealt with The housing issue as this can be resolved creates chances to deal with the hosing issue in the long term

The Stray dogs So as the dogs are a threat to the local population and will be one of the quicker issues to resolve we will focus on this. Our intentions to resolve this problem is to build housing shelters for them and recruit a team to collect these dogs. It is important that this shelter has adequate space and an area for these dogs to roam about in.

The pollution issue Factories So as we are currently using coal as the main source of fuel we have to ensure that our factories are doing as much as possible to reduce their pollution. The way this can be achieved is making sure the chimneys within the factories have advanced air filtration systems and also that the coal we are producing is smoke-free as this form of coal is the most environmentally friendly Water There are currently a large amount of chemical being placed into the water and the issue with this is that the drinking water is being affected and as a result there is a large risk of people being exposed to cancer

In order to reduce the large amount of chemicals being deposited into the water there are several things we wish to do in the short term plan. The first plan is to build a waste dump close to the factory as this makes disposal safer and quicker To ensure the water is being cleaned correctly and to a level that is safe for drinking we will immediately start construction of a small scale water purification facility near to the rivers. This stops people exposed to the dangerous chemicals causing cancer and improves the overall health of the population

The Housing (of immigrants) The city is very attractive that would bring more immigrant workforce into the city, which causes problems such as the housing of them. However, there are many apartments in the city which unfortunately in a poor state. A solution for this problem is for example to build temporary houses for immigrants. They can stay there until the problem of the houses is solved. Another problem is the uncontrolled construction of houses in the city and since there is no regulation the houses are of a very poor quality. A solution would be to make the construction of houses government controlled, which include the introduction of quality standards and fees for illegal building, which is implemented by law. As a consequence, there is no option left for the client to not build the houses as is expected of the government.

Congestion of traffic in the city Since there is too much traffic in the city there are many congestions in the city, which is a problem because of the delay and reduction of productivity. We may solve this problem by charging driving during in the city centre and by promoting driving with public transport through TV-advertisement and posters. The quality of the road is another issue which we want to address. Currently there is no traffic system in place which is causing an excess amount of congestion and accidents. We will build traffic measurements such as lights, roundabouts and one- way streets. More public transport system made available for a cheap price so the use of cars are reduced

Electric wiring There are currently many problems with the electrical system as we are receiving frequent power cuts in many areas and this is causing great distress to many people. Power cuts have also been stopping production. We think we may solve this problem by improving electrical wiring, so the amount of power cuts is reducing. We will also import electrical engineers in order to maintain and set up this project.

Long term issues and solutions 10 years time The following issues will be resolved in the future and have been addressed as long term issues due to the time period to fix them. Energy problem Coal is an issue due to its unsustainability and to create a more eco-friendly energy source we want to do the following -We will build wind turbines on top of the buildings and in open space in order to create wind-farms which will generate clean energy. -We want to utilise the river as well, this means we will build a hydro dam and make use of the strong current. This ones again creates a clean and sustainable energy source whilst also creating jobs for the unemployed. -We want to utilise the power-given by the sun as well by building solar panels on the roofs. This will generate more clean electrical power.

Long term housing solution Whilst residents from poor housing have been moved into temporary housing we can take the opportunity to demolish and rebuild housing which is cheap yet has the capability to care for their needs. This will be begin as soon as the temporary housing has been put up and can be built upon areas where there is nothing.

Helping the poor Currently there are very bad facilities available for those with a low income or unemployed and as a result education and health is extremely bad. In order to resolve this we plan to build new schools and build job centres for those older looking to become unemployed. To battle the bad health issues we will also build a walk-in centre to help those suffering from illness.

Develop infrastructures So currently the youth of our city have very little areas to go and spend time socially so in order to boost their options and help them to make choices which will help them in the future
