NCD Prevention Program in the UAE By Najwa Kamal Deputy Director of Preventive Medicine Ministry of Health, UAE May 2012

Current Situation CVDs, Cancer, Diabetes and Chronic Respiratory Diseases constituted more than 35% of deaths recorded in the UAE.

Causes of deaths among UAE citizen in 2005

Prevalence of Hypercholesterolemia, Diabetes Mellitus and Hypertension among UAE population

Main Achievement Issuing Tobacco Control Act Ban on selling to Minors Finalizing the draft of Tobacco Regu. Drafting the National Strategy & Acton Plan NCD Implementing the the Diet Physical Activity strategy
