English as an Additional Language (EAL) in Scoil Phádraig Naofa There are two EAL teachers The teachers take the boys out for 30-60 minutes daily in small groups for language lessons They work through the designated English language programme: “Integrate Ireland” They cover class work too, reinforcing the class reader & maths concepts The children are encouraged to learn English through play, where they engage in literacy & language games The EAL teachers also go into the classroom as part of the teams that implement literacy & maths initiatives such as Literacy Lift Off & Maths Blast English as an Additional Language (EAL) in Scoil Phádraig Naofa

English for Living: Social & Communication Skills EAL supports pupils in developing important life skills including: Making friends Playing/working together in school Engaging in activities in the wider community   English for Living: Social & Communication Skills
