The Map of Scotland

The Scottish Flags There are two different flags. The one that has the big cross and the other is the royal flag. The flag with the cross in the middle of the flag is based on St. Andrews cross.

Location Scotland is a country that is part of the United Kingdom. Scotland is in north-west Europe.

Capital The capital of Scotland is Edinburgh and it is the second largest city. Edinburgh was the hub of the Scottish Enlightment of the 18th century, which transformed Scotland into one of the commercial, intellectual and industrial powerhouses of Europe.

Currency The pound sterling, commonly called the pound is the official currency United Kingdom and its Crown Dependencies, the Isle Man and the Channel Islands.

Kilts There are some evidence that shows Irish men and English men as the kilt first weares. Even evidence from the 11th centuries. Unfortanlty those evidence aren’t written one but also pictures that are showing probably something else than kilts.

What Scotland is famous for. Its fresh water lakes-there are over 600 square miles of them. One of the most famous is Loch Ness where a mysterious monster is said to be lurking in the depths of the water. It is also famous for its clans, kilts, medieval castles, as well as poetry and songs of Robert Burns. Theatre lovers from around the world come to Edinburgh for its famous theatres festival.
