The difference Jesus makes

The difference Jesus makes With our past In our relationships With our feelings With those who don’t like us With our money

Assumptions to undo: Jesus/Bible not relevant today We don’t need any help It all belongs to us so we can do what we like

Colossians 1:16 (NIV) For in him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through him and for him. James 1:17 (NIV) Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.

1 Timothy 6:17 (NIV) Command those who are rich in this present world not to be arrogant nor to put their hope in wealth, which is so uncertain, but to put their hope in God, who richly provides us with everything for our enjoyment. 18-19: Command them to do good, to be rich in good deeds, and to be generous and willing to share. 19 In this way they will lay up treasure for themselves as a firm foundation for the coming age, so that they may take hold of the life that is truly life.

Step 1 Stewarding, not possessing Matthew 6:19-21 (NIV) 19 “Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and vermin destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. 20 But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. 21 For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

Step 2 Live an open-handed life

Money Rocks Determine our priorities Decide to get out of debt Hebrews 13:5 (NIV) Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said,“Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.”.

Money Rocks Determine our priorities Decide to get out of debt Discipline ourselves in small financial ways Luke 16:10 “Whoever can be trusted with very little can also be trusted with much”
