Executive Summary Hartford Area Habitat for Humanity is focused on providing opportunities for home ownership to qualifying families. We provide a hand up, not a hand out. We manage land acquisition, construction, financing, and social services to provide our new homeowners with the best possible start in homeownership. To provide financing for these efforts we actively engage contributors on an individual and corporate level. We also seek grants and other financial assistance. We collaborate with other organizations and local governments to leverage strength and support. In our fiscal years 2014-2018, Hartford Habitat will look to heighten our impact in the community by: Increasing the number of families we place in homes and the number of homes we build Expanding our model to include keeping people in existing homes through Critical Home Repair, A Brush with Kindness and rehab activities. Adopting a neighborhood approach for broader impact To support this expansion we will look to supplement our current financial model through: The opening of our first Habitat ReStore A renewed focus on donor giving and care A renewed focus on additional funding sources including grants and unrestricted To best position our organization for success we will focus on improved organizational effectiveness, particularly in the earlier part of the plan. We have high expectations for our Executive Director and the renewed staff and management models she is putting in place. We will also look to shore up our board governance model to best support our Executive Director, the staff, and our ambitious plans for growth.
