Preventing flooding RIsks by Making resilient communitiES PRIMES Preventing flooding RIsks by Making resilient communitiES Kick-off meeting Ancona, 24-25 Febbraio 2016

UNIVPM Higher education institutions in Ancona since 1562; Università Politecnica delle Marche (UNIVPM) found in 1959; Five colleges: agriculture, economics, engineering, medicine, science. Among the various degrees: Undergraduate degree in Environmental Sciences and Emergency Management; Master degree in Environmental Sustainability and Civil Protection; Ph.D. program in Civil and Environmental Protection.

Department of Life and Environmental Sciences Research laboratories Disaster Risk Reduction and Civil Protection (DisasterLab) Collaboration with various research institutions from around the World (USA, Canada, EU, France, Spain, UK, Germany, Austria, Greece, Croatia, Indonesia, Vietnam, Sri Lanka, Madagascar, Singapore, Israel, etc.). Research activities focus on both local and global issues of environmental sustainability as well as hazard and disaster prevention.

DisasterLab Coordinator: Fausto Marincioni Research subjects include: Vulnerability and resilience to disasters Hazard and Risk Perception Adaptation to climate change Multidisciplinary approach Besides the traditional physical sciences research methods, socio-cultural approaches are also carried out.
