PRINTING PROBLEMS ? Most common issues: No Credit – best to check before you send a print Sending your print to the wrong printer Entered your paper size in the wrong box – please refer to the instruction sheet, or the reminder note stuck on top of the printer FILE SIZE: Excessive file size – 100-150 dpi is recommended ‘Flatten’ layers before sending a file to print. If this option is not available save as JPEG to flatten Avoid sending multiple drawings to print at once, say from a combined PDF file. This will increase memory size and may lead to problems Avoid attempting to print directly from an application/programme. Publisher is probably the worst programme to try to print directly from File type: We recommend PDF for all paper sizes where scale is important. JPEG files are a useful alternative for keeping print file size down, however we have found that the ‘Fit picture to a frame’ option in Windows PhotoViewer used for printing JPEG files often does not work properly so recommend ensuring the size of the image is set correctly before printing and used, rather than just relying of the ‘print to fit’ option. (e.g. 2000 x 841) If you encounter a problem, please do not keep sending files to the printer, ask a staff member for help. Refund is only possible for printer/network errors, not user errors
