Trenholm State Technical College New Website Presentation September 4, 2013

Overview During this presentation you will be introduced to the newly designed Trenholm State Technical College website. This presentation will cover the following: How to navigate the website How to maneuver the slideshow How to maneuver the Interactive Tour How to access current news and events How to access hyperlinks that are most commonly used Let’s start the presentation by reviewing the Home Page.

The Home Page The home page is broken up into several sections. There are hyperlinks located in the header and the footer. The body of the page contains an interactive slideshow, news & events and other icons that will lead you to an Interactive Tour, Financial Aid...etc. Let’s look at the header.

The Header At first glance you may notice that the “HOME” hyperlink no longer exists. This has been replaced with the “Trenholm State” logo located in the upper left-hand corner. Click the logo whenever you wish to return to the home page. There are three (3) rows of hyperlinks located in the header. Some of the hyperlinks reveal a dropdown menu, which allows you to navigate to other pages within the Trenholm State website (see image on the right). Other hyperlinks allow you to navigate to external sites like Moodle. Hyperlinks, first row: (Academics, Current Students, Future Students, College Info) Hyperlinks, second row: (My Trenholm, Moodle, Request Information, Apply Now) Hyperlinks, third row: (Administration, Alumni & Giving, Continuing Education, Catalog, Directory and a search box)

The Body Part I In the upper portion of the home page there is an interactive slideshow. If you click in the blue area next to “Learn More About Our Programs” you will be redirected to a webpage, which contains more information about the subject on that particular slide. To navigate to a particular slide, click on the slide’s smaller image located on the right. You may also use the arrows to navigate through the slides.

The Body Part II The second part of the body contains information on news and events. Click on the “All News & Events” hyperlink to view more information. There are also graphics that lead to other informative web pages on the site. Let’s look at the Interactive Tour graphic.

Interactive Tours When you click the Interactive Tour graphic, you will see the slideshow above. Clicking the play icon; as shown on the right will start the playback of a video related to the subject of a particular slide. To navigate to a slide, click on the smaller image located below the slide. You may also use the arrows to navigate through the slides.

The Footer The footer is self explanatory. Use the links to navigate to the desired webpage. You can also follow the College on Twitter and Facebook to stay informed of current events.

Areas of Interest: Faculty and Staff A few areas of interest for faculty and staff include hyperlinks to the Intranet and the Faculty/Staff login portal. These links are located under the ADMINISTRATIVE hyperlink located in the header (see figure on left). Click the Administrative link to reveal the webpage shown below.

Areas of Interest: Students There are several areas of interest for current students. A few of the hyperlinks that you may access on a daily basis have been circled above. Click on the hyperlink to reveal a dropdown menu as shown to the left. You may also click the My Trenholm and Moodle links to access a desired webpage.
