THE COURTESY IN EVERYDAY SITUATIONS, DO’S AND DON’TS

DO’S Cheek kissing is a ritual to indicate friendship in Turkish culture. It is considered appropriate among family members as well as friends and acquaintances: a man and a woman, two women, or two men. We kiss each other on both cheeks.

It is customary when the teacher enters the classroom for the students to stand up as a sign of respect.

Teachers require students to raise their hand before speaking Teachers require students to raise their hand before speaking. Hand-raising, on the other hand, is fair to every student.

There is not a school uniform worn by students in our school There is not a school uniform worn by students in our school. But there is a dress code which is less restrictive like not allowing ripped clothing, no logos or limiting the amount of skin that can be shown.

Every day, there are two students on duty at our school Every day, there are two students on duty at our school. These students do not enter their classes that day. There are also teachers on duty responsible for maintaining order and discipline in the school.

Teachers have a gift fund composed of donations from a certain amount of the teachers’ salaries each month. This fund is used for buying presents or supporting someone on special occasions, such as a marriage, an illness, birth, death, retirement or else.

On certain days determined by the ministry, celebrations and commemorations are observed at the school.

As a vocational and technical school, 12th grade students come to school only for two days. On the other days, they have training courses in business offices.

During sports events, students show their support by clapping their hands. They show their disapproval by whistling.

All the teachers, students and the administration start the school week with a ceremony on Mondays. In the ceremony, we stand at attention and salute the national flag and sing the national anthem. On Fridays, when the school ends we observe the closing ceremony.

There is a special room for Muslim students to observe their daily prayers.

Teachers Day is celebrated on 24 November each year Teachers Day is celebrated on 24 November each year. It is a special day for the appreciation of teachers, and includes celebrations to honor them for their special contributions.
