Context Bexley Safeguarding Children’s Board K Family Action Plan Children’s Social Care response to the findings.

Theme 2: Working with Fathers Finding 5 - Ensure staff across Children’s Services have access to guidance on mental capacity and the impact this may have on parenting capacity. Adults & Children’s joint commission -self neglect awareness training & Elearning Mental Capacity Act. Adult Social Care and Children’s Social Care will have read only access to Liquid Logic to enable practitioners to quickly identify if a child or adult is known to Children’s or Adult services Finding 6 - Review current training on Working with Fathers to ensure it covers active fathers/partners. Internal L&D offer has been refreshed to reflect findings. CSC have access to Research in Practice ‘Working Effectively with Men in Families’. Learning from SAR Children’s & Adults workshop – 28th November 2017.

Theme 5: Improving working across Children’s and Adult’s Services Finding 3 - Review current training provision to ensure it adequately supports staff to recognise self-neglect and safeguard adults. Finding 3 - Consideration to be given to briefing sessions for staff in Adult’s and Children’s Services on referring and navigating each other’s services.
