Biotic vs. Abiotic Review
My Pals are Here! Science © 2008 Marshall Cavendish (Singapore) Private Limited.
Warm Up List (use notes if needed) 3 animals that eat only plants and grass 3 animals that eat only meat 3 animals that eat both.
Ecosystems are made up of both living and nonliving things
By Mrs. Piney-Perez.  Abiotic are non living things in an ecosystem.  Biotic are living things in an ecosystem.  Ecosystem is all the living and nonliving.

Habitats!. What is a habitat? A habitat is a place where plants and animals live.
The Role of Decomposers in the Ecosystem. What are Decomposers? Decomposers are organisms that use dead plant & material as food. Breaks down dead things,

Presentation transcript:

Assessment Activities S2L1 Students will investigate the life cycles of different living organisms. d. Identify fungi (mushrooms) as living organisms. This standard builds on Kindergarten standard: SKL1a (recognize the difference between living organisms and nonliving materials). Limited or Minimum Progress toward achievement of standard (1) Student is not able to identify fungi. Progressing toward achievement of standard (2) Student inconsistently identifies fungi. Consistently and independently achieves the standard (3) Student consistently and independently identifies fungi. Assessment Activities Given pictures of living organisms, students will identify the ones that are fungi. Instructional Notes: Students should know: that fungi do not make their own food. that fungi use dead plants and animals for food. Instructional Websites: Forest Fungi:  Spore Prints 1
