City & Guilds Functional Skills EMPLOYABILITY AND PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT(7546) Ofqual has now approved 39 new 7546 qualification pathways. These changes create the most comprehensive range of employability and personal/social development qualifications offered by any awarding organisation. Key features: Increased flexibility with no mandatory units 330 units (a small number of replacements) Increased choice of qualification sizes from Entry level to level 2 Recognisable pathway awards aimed at particular learner/programme types Sector specific units and ‘tasters’ included Improved documentation Simple pricing through unit routes - £9 per unit Cost effective Certificate and Diploma registration route also available UNITS INCLUDE: Applying for a job Career planning Interview skills Job searching Self-Management Time Management Valuing customers Enterprise activity Preparing for Work Placement Group working Managing personal finance Valuing equality and diversity Working as part of a group Solving work-related problems

EMPLOYABILTY AND PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT (7546) CHANGES more QUALIFICATION SIZES with a more FLEXIBLE STRUCTURE From 2-credit Introductory Awards to 39-credit Diplomas Each new qualification has a new qualification number Manageable groups of units related to a particular theme with five themes – each requiring 4 credits Planning for Life and Work – the old mandatory units available as standalone qualifications New pricing in place now All new qualifications have a LARA listing THEMES 7546-02 - Preparing for Employment 7546-03 - Succeeding at Work 7546-04 - Community Involvement 7546-05 - Lifestyle 7546-06 - Enterprise 7546-07 - Planning for Life & Work Old mandatory units as a new standalone award All new 7546 qualifications link to our new Work Ready offer

EMPLOYABILITY AND PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT SWITCHING FROM OLD (01) TO NEW 7546-01 Accredited until October 2012 Remains open for registration until October 2012, with new pricing from May 2012 Existing candidates can remain and new ones can be registered – but they will have to complete mandatory units All 7546-01 centres auto approved for new pathways Registration for new pathways is free so existing candidates can transfer easily There are some differences in units © CITY & GUILDS

Be careful of materials on website – not correct – being rectified 186 units to select from – see WG Generally a pick and mix approach applies, however if being used as part of an apprenticeship, check framework for specific units that need to be covered, e.g. Hairy & Beauty have specific requirements. © CITY & GUILDS
