Yoga and Acting Classes at DBOOSH! This week DBOOSH introduced yoga and acting classes to the centre. These classes are being run by industry professionals in order to give children the opportunity to learn and develop new skills, and have some fun! Yoga classes are run each Tuesday from 4.00-5.00pm and acting classes will run each Thursday from 4.00-5.30pm. Children must be booked in to DBOOSH if they wish to attend the classes, but the classes come at no extra cost. Homework Club is up and running. Homework Club has started back up for Term 2. If you would like your child to start Homework Club please let us know when you book them in. The 9+ Program In week four DBOOSH will be introducing a 9+ program. This program will allow older children to engage in challenging learning activities that are not yet suitable for the younger years. This form of medium-risk play will involve using materials such as tools, candles, glass jars, the fire pit and hard plastics. Challenging play gives children the opportunity to develop good negotiating skills (such as negotiating the environment), learning how to use equipment safely, coordination and orientation skills, and learning how to take acceptable risks. All activities will be conducted in small groups and will be closely monitored by staff. If you have any questions do not hesitate to ask. WE NEED YOUR HELP! If any families have any spare glass jars at home we would greatly appreciate them as donations! We will be using the jars for various arts and crafts activities. We’ll accept jars of all shapes and sizes, however if they have contained nuts we unfortunately cannot take them.
