1.0 COMPUTER NAME & WORKGROUP SETTING Right click on “My Computer” icon and select “Properties”. The icon can be found at desktop or start menu. Select “Computer Name” tab and click “Change” as shown below. 1) 2) 1

Change “Computer name” to “intotest-xxx” where “xxx” represent the machine cost center and “Workgroup” to “Control” then click “OK” to exit. Then, close all application to restart IPC for the settings to be effective. 1) 2) 3) 2

1.1 DESKTOP PROPERTIES SETTING right click on desktop and select “Properties”. A pop-up will appear and select “Themes” tab then choose “Windows Classic”. 1) 2) 3

Select “Desktop” tab and set “Background” to “None”; Set “Color” to black and click OK to apply it. 1) 2) 3) 4

Select “Screen Saver” tab and select “None” at the “Screen saver” selection  then click on “Power”. 1) 2) 3) 5

In “Power Schemes” tab choose “Always On” option In “Power Schemes” tab choose “Always On” option. Then set all the settings in this scheme to “Never”. 1) 2) 3) 6

Click on the “Advanced” tab and uncheck the box as shown in the picture below. 7

Navigate to “Hibernate” tab and check the “Enable hibernation” check box then exit by clicking “OK”. 1) 2) 3) 8

Next, move onto “Settings” tab and set the “Screen resolution” to 1024 x 768 with “32 bit” color quality and proceed to “Advanced”. 1) 2) 3) 9

In advanced windows, select the “Intel(R) Graphics Media Accelerator Driver” tab and uncheck the “Show Tray Icon” check box and click “OK” to exit into desktop. 1) 2) 3) 10

1.2 TASKBAR PROPERTIES SETTING At the desktop, right click on the taskbar and select “Properties” Select “Taskbar” tab and uncheck “Group similar taskbar buttons” and “Hide inactive icons”. 1) 2) 3) 4) 11

Next, move on to “Start Menu” tab and select “Classic Start Menu” and click “OK” to exit. 1) 2) 3) 12

1.3 NETWORK CONNECTION SETTING Right click on “My Computer” and select “Properties” and then proceed to “Device Manager”. 1) 2) 13

At Device Manager, right click on the network device icon as shown below and select “Properties”. 1) 2) 14

After checking that the network connection is working properly, proceed to “My Network Places” through “My Computer” as shown below. 16

Finally, go to the “Options and Support” tab & uncheck the “Enable” Hot Key Functionality box. 25

1.5 EAST ASIAN LANGUAGE FILES INSTALLATION Only proceed to the steps below if IPC is for use on China machine else continue to Section C of IPC Setup First, go to “Control Panel” and double click on the “Regional and Language Options” icon as shown below 26

Go to the “Language” tab and check the “Install files for East Asian languages” box. A pop-up as shown will appear and just click “OK” to proceed. 1) 2) 28

After windows is done copying the required files from the installation CD, proceed to the “Advanced” tab and select “Chinese (PRC)” as shown below and then click “Apply”. 1) 2) 30

Finally, restart the IPC for the settings to take effect. After clicking “Apply”, a pop-up as shown below will appear. Just click “Yes” to proceed. Finally, restart the IPC for the settings to take effect. 31
