What is a blog? A blog is a webpage that is usually run by one person or sometimes a small group or business A blog is a diary or journal that is online Blogs are a place for their writer to share thoughts and passions

What kind of blogs are popular? Some of the most popular genres of blogs are Cooking blogs Fashion blogs Lifestyle blogs Family blogs Travel blogs

How is information written? Blogs are usually written in an informal style Some have a dear diary type of format Other business type blogs will have a more formal style Cooking blogs will have recipes written in a cookbook style format

The basics of how to blog How are images added? How are blogs made public/private? Depending on which blogging platform (ie.blogspot, wordpress, etc.) used it will vary The fairly standard way to add a image is when writing a post click the insert image option How easy this is to do will depend on your platform Again depending on the platform it will vary but in general in settings there will be an option of public or private Some people decide to make their blogs private because of privacy concerns

Commenting How do people make comments? What kind of comments are useful? People make comments by using the comment box at the bottom of a post (like the one below) Some kind of comments that are useful are feedback on recipes Constructive criticism can be very useful Encouraging comments can be useful to improve a bloggers confidence

What keeps people interested? What kind of posts keep people interested? Can posts be too often? Fun informative and interesting posts List posts are almost always effective (i.e.10 ways to tighten abs etc.) Posting more than once a day can turn people off Most successful bloggers only post 1-2 times a week It can be difficult to find the perfect balance between not enough and too many posts
