Mr. Niekamp Biology I, Biology II and Fundamentals of Biology First Day Information Mr. Niekamp Biology I, Biology II and Fundamentals of Biology

About me From Ft. Recovery, OH Went to University of Findlay Played football and basketball Taught at USV for 2 years Biology and physics Coached basketball

My hobbies… Outdoors Sports Movies Reading Cooking Fishing, golfing, watersports, love the outdoors! Sports just about anything Movies big movie guy and love to quote movies Reading Love a good read! Cooking Not very good but I love to do it! (I watch food network like crazy!)

Supplies Pen or pencil Netbook – CHARGED! Notebook and folder or three ring binder (preferred) with notebook paper Folders – basically something to keep your organized Textbooks – will be online….stay in classroom

Expectations Seating chart depends on you! some classes need some, some don’t Come in, sit down, and look at the board that will tell you what we’re doing good chance of a moodle assignment most days! name of the assignment will be that day’s date.   I should not have to wait on you to sit down...that annoys me. Stay in your seat unless I tell you otherwise, that annoys me as well

LISTEN!!! I am typically laid back However, if myself or someone else is talking, you listen It makes me angry when you don’t listen. Don’t make me angry.

Discipline I Do no like to give out detentions – but it doesn’t mean I won’t 99% of the time they will be served before school (1/2 hour) Typically you’ll get a warning, then sent out in the hall or to Mr. Brand’s office Bottom line….just listen to me

That’s a paddlin’

Absences Check moodle for any assignments, notes or quizzes that you may have missed for that day Check tray You will have the amount of days you were absent to make up for any work you missed If you need to make up a test or lab, you must work out a time with me to do so Any unexcused absences are an automatic zero for the day

Assignments We will have all kinds of assignments In class, homework, labs, reading, activities, etc… You are responsible for your work! I’m not your babysitter If you have a conflict, tell me AHEAD of time

Late/missing assignments Late assignments will receive ½ credit, up until interim reports or the end of the 9 weeks Missing assignments are obviously a zero

Partner/group work We will do a lot of partner/group work YOU are still responsible If your partner forgets to turn an assignment in, you will still lose points!

Speak up! If something doesn’t seem right If you don’t totally get something If you have a funny (clean) joke….I like jokes

Other Items of Interest You must have a pass in order to leave the classroom for any reason Unless in an emergency….. Obviously, we will follow all guidelines and procedures that are in the student handbook Any work that is assigned, no matter what it is, assume that it is to be done INDIVIDUALLY unless I tell you otherwise Do not line up at the door…I hate that
