God’s love is Covenant love ‘Husbands, love your wives, as Christ loved the church’ – Ephesians 5:25 Paul doesn’t say that husbands must feel ‘in love’ or be ‘in love’ with their wives! Jesus and the church is the role model for Christian marriages. God’s love is Covenant love Voluntary Unbreakable (consequences if one side broke it) Eg: Abraham – Genesis 12 God never, ever breaks his covenant with his people.
