Language Parts

Part of Speech Function or “job” Example words Example sentences Diagnostics Example words Example sentences noun People, things, ideas שם עצם-מה זה ? מי זה? pen, dog, work Boys play games. pronoun replace nouns מילת גוף, מילת שייכות (כותבים ביחד עם של...) I, you, he, she, it we, they, his, her,… We clean our room. verb action or state פועל- מה לעשות? ל..... work, love, be, have…… They live in Israel. adjective describes a noun שם תואר-איזה? אפשר להוסיף מאוד, בא לפני NOUN red, beautiful My dogs are big. adverb describes a verb or an adjective תואר פועל- איך? באיזה תדירות ? אפשר להוסיף מאוד, בא לפני ADJECTIVE,לפני או אחרי VERB very, quickly, never You dress is very nice. You can run quickly. preposition links a noun to another word מילת יחס to, at, after, on, in…. I went to school on Monday. conjunction joins clauses or sentences or words מחבר מילים או חלקי משפטים and, but, when... I like dogs and I like cats. I like dogs but I don't like cats. determiner limits or "determines" a noun בא לפני NOUN a/an, the, 2, some, many, this, that….. I have two dogs and some rabbits.

A. Read the following sentences and complete the table. The motorcycle is old. Today is cloudy, hot, and humid. The man wearing a blue suit is young. The runner is very fast. He is a good basketball player. The Technological College is a great place to learn. The blue bus is late. Jaime is so smart! The job was difficult, but manageable. The house has new plumbing and running water. The silly man laughed uncontrollably. The boy said he was sorry.
