FeiYang Chinese Language and Culture Lesson 6 - Review Session Oct. 27th, 2011

Overview of the lesson Content 1. Review all the consonants and vowels we learned(with tones) 2. Review all the words (family members and animals) and numbers we learned 3. Play the game “listening to sounds” to consolidate vocab and pinyin 4. Learn the numbers from 6 to 10 in Chinese. 5. Play the game “making telephone call”

Game “Listening to sounds” Content: Identify the words or pinyin you learned listened Materials: Flashcards with pinyin and words Time: 10-15 minutes

Game “Listening to sounds” Goal: Help children review the words and pinyin we learned in the following weeks Procedure: 1. Students close their eyes and rest their heads on arms. 2. Teacher read a word or pinyin aloud. Students need to recognize the sounds they hear. We do it in whole class. We do it by individual.

Game “Making telephone call” Content: Tell us which telephone number is your classmates’ Materials: colored markers and paper Time: 10-15 minutes

Game “make telephone call” Goal: Help children review the numbers from 1 to 10 we learn in the class Procedure: 1.Teacher will write down each students’ telephone number on a piece of paper (numbers might be similar) 2. Students will be given 1-2 minutes to get familiar with these numbers. 3. Teacher will read a telephone number aloud. Students will judge whom the number belongs to. 4. Students could take turns to read the numbers and ask peers to guess whose number it is.
