Digitisation and RI & District Websites Assistant Governor Designate – Devang Goradia “Zenith” District Training Assembly Sunday 27th March 2016 – Trident Hotel, Nariman Point

Technology has advanced more in the last 30 years than in the previous two thousand. The exponential increase in technological advancement will only continue.

The Only Thing that is Constant is Change

IN JUST ONE SINGLE SWEEP, Rotary changed the age old RI Citation application process from Paper to Digital Speed of Change – Just Overnight and……..

This is just the beginning of the Planned Digitisatsion

The Right Time to Change is NOW

The Digital Era is Changing the Way We Work

The Digital Era is Changing the Way We Work

Go Digital……...Embrace The Change Strive to Register all Club Members on My Rotary

Going Digital is no longer an Option Every member to have a valid functional email id in order to register on My Rotary and access the restricted members section on the District Website. Club website and updated Facebook page is a must. All important District Event registrations will be online. All important resources will be accessible only through the restricted members section on the District Website. RI & District Citation Application will be ONLINE only.

Rotary’s Go Digital Criteria's for Clubs Have at least 50 percent of Club members register on My Rotary, identify their skills and interests in their My Rotary profiles and unlock that section to make it visible on their public profiles. Post at least one initiative in Rotary Showcase. Post a project in need of assistance in Rotary Ideas or contribute to a project in Rotary Ideas. Ensure that at least one club member belongs to a RI Board recognized Rotarian Action Group.

The Harsh Reality Less than 25% of our Members have an Active My Rotary Account And Only 50% Clubs Have an updated Website

Go Digital We have an Efficient Tech Team in place to help you overcome the hurdles and Go Digital

Hands On Training Sessions Special Zone Wise Hands On Training Sessions are being planned

Why Have a Valid Email I’D?

Why Have a Valid Email I’D? You will not be able to create a My Rotary account without a Valid and Functional Email id as well as have the account verified. Without having an active account on My Rotary you will not be able to update your profile, intimate your skills and interests in your My Rotary profile and unlock that section to make it visible on their public profiles – This is one of the perquisites for qualifying for the RI Citation. You also will not be able to receive your Login Credentials to access the restricted members section on the District Website. You will not be able to register online for District Events. You will loose out on important District Communications as, this year we are striving to go 100% paperless as regards Communications.

Why Have a Website? Having a website gives your Club a massive amount of exposure. If a Club doesn’t have a website it loses credibility. All of the big Clubs can be found online. Once you’ve created your Club website it is there 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. It’s like a constant advertising platform. You can showcase current and past projects. Helps Brand Building. There are numerous ways to build it up, but the internet is one of the most effective. Having a website is not that expensive. In reality it provides much cheaper and more effective advertising than any offline media.
