Documentation GOLD Tips & Tricks & Lessons Learned Alma Alarcon and Cassandra Brotzman

What is curriculum alignment? Aligning curriculum— (1)the knowledge, skills, topics and concepts that are taught to students, and the lessons, units, assignments, readings and materials used in the teaching process--(2) aligning various curricula within a school, such as a curriculum for a particular course, with other curricula in the school to improve overall coherence and effectiveness This to ensure that all courses follow a logical leaning sequence, within and across subject areas Aligning Assessment: teachers may align assessments, standards, lessons, and instruction so that the assessments evaluate the material they are teaching in a unit or course.

Why align both curriculum? Less Stress on Checkpoint Dates Helpful for new home visitors Improve efficiency and effectiveness Strong focus on what is important Ease of use across TSG and PAT

Layout Where the idea came from? Not necessary to list materials No page numbers on PAT activities because they will change Gold Activities Will Be Easily accessible
