Oracle Engineered Systems Extreme performance Faster time to value Lower total cost of ownership Reduced risk Easier to scale, easier to manage One-stop support No other system delivers the kind of known, predictable, tested and certified performance that Oracle Engineered Systems do. JD Edwards multi-system platform support is good for our customers, good for Oracle, and that will continue. But when we ran JD Edwards on Engineered Systems, we saw extraordinary performance benefits. That got us wondering what was so different, how did we get such performance increases. The answer is quite simply: there are features and capabilities in Oracle Engineered Systems that simply don’t exist in other systems. So while we are committed to multi-platform support, we also want to deliver transformative solutions that can take advantage of these unique features and capabilities for our customers who want and need them. The In-Memory modules running on Oracle Engineered Systems is a direct result of our Engineered to Work Together Strategy. Oracle owns all the intellectual property in every layer of the stack, we can do things within the actual JD Edwards, Oracle Database and WegLogic Server software code, as well the operating system and hardware designs to improve performance and deliver superior value that no other vendor or customer could do. Since Oracle knows ever component and every line of code involved, we can create solutions like In-Memory modules that exploit the most out of the combined capabilities, rather than writing to the lowest common denominator among an unknown collection of different vendors. As a result, customers get benefits that include the extreme performance capabilities required to run in-memory modules, along with faster time to value, reduced risk and costs and superior manageability and support. The JD Edwards EnterpriseOne In-Memory Sales Advisor solution was engineered for Oracle systems. This compelling solution sits on top of existing JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Sales Order Management, Advanced Pricing, Inventory Management, and Fulfillment Management information to enables customer service representatives and executives to increase revenue and profit margins while not interrupting their existing processes. The In-Memory Sales Advisor runs on Oracle Engineered Systems which combines the hardware with the software of JD Edwards EnterpriseOne providing unprecedented speed to gather, aggregate, and summarize real-time customer, product, and sales information. The solution is certified on Oracle Database, Oracle Linux, and Oracle Websphere, and was tested on our own Oracle Hardware (in this case Exadata and Exalogic platform). The software has only been certified and will only be supported by Oracle Hardware. The performance capabilities of Oracle Engineered Systems enable handling of the large and complex data sets that are core to the new modules. On a non-Engineered system, the processing time would be outside of an acceptable window either for a live conversation with a customer or to effectively manage and analyze the data. How do we take advantage of the hardware?
