Phonics 26 letters in English alphabet, but there are 44 sounds 5 vowels but A, E, I, O, U, but there are more vowel sounds Each letter represents a sound(not always the same sound) Cup, place, chocolate, ache Though, thought, cough IPA

Letter “B” Always silent when before letter “T” Subtle Debt doubt Always silent when follows letter “M” Climb Lamb Thumb Dumb Plumber

Letter “C” Often silent after letter “S” Muscle Scissors Fascinate Scene scenario
