This type can influence children to rebel against God. Father Types Authoritarian – Rules and strictness surpasses relationship. This type can influence children to rebel against God.

Father Types Abusive - Inflicts emotional, physical pain. This type can influence children to have significant issues with trusting God, and to not see God as protective and good.

Father Types Distant/Passive Uninvolved with children with little to no affection or emotion. This type can influence children to see God as uninvolved and disinterested in their lives.

Father Types Absent - Unavailable, too busy, abandonment. This type can influence children to believe that God is inaccessible, nonexistent, and that God will not be there for them when they need him most.

The idea of God as Father started in the OT but was not prevalent. Jeremiah 31:9 Exodus 4:22-23

Matthew 6 V1 - Beware of practicing your righteousness before other people in order to be seen by them, for then you will have no reward from your Father who is in heaven.

Matthew 6 V3-4 - But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, 4 so that your giving may be in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you.

Our Father In Heaven Our Father in heaven has all sovereign authority and demonstrates it perfectly. All that the Father gives me will come to me, and whoever comes to me I will never cast out. 38 For I have come down from heaven, not to do my own will but the will of him who sent me. John 6:37-38
