Hardware research By Hollie Willis

Digital Cameras Cameras store images when they have been taken digitally rather than the pictures being recorded on a film The pictures can be uploaded on to the computer with via an USB Digital cameras are limited to the memory you have in the camera But the best digital cameras are the ones that you can connect to printers but the printers wouldn't be able to produce film quality photos.

Graphic cards are also known as a expansion card It is easily installed into the computer The modern high performance cards where often used as PC games Graphic cards have got various functions such as accelerated rendering of 3D scenes and 2D graphics With your data on the computer the graphic card turns them into pictures

The graphic tablet is and input device for the computer This is used for user so that they can hand-draw images r maybe signature The graphic tablet consist of and pad/tablet and a stylus Most of the graphic are connected to via USB

Printers Injects ink onto the paper so you can see what you have type It has a laser so that it would be able to read what you are wanting to print off Must of the printers are connected to the computer via USB Printers get information from the computers so it know what it needs t print off

Monitors allow you to view text and graphics on the computer The monitors are connected to the computer via VGA port

There is two sectors to the CD-Rom sector 1- computer graphics A CD-ROM is a adaption of an CD which is able to store computer data in the form of a text or a computer graphics There is two sectors to the CD-Rom sector 1- computer graphics Sector 2- is an compressed audio or graphic data

HDD stands for hard disk drive The Data is magnetically read and it is written to a platter by the red/white heads which float in the air above the platters

Memory SD card is for portable devices SD technology has been used by more than 400 brands across dozens of product categories has have more than 8,00 models A memory SD card comes in its original size, mini size and there is a micro size

Software

Vector graphics Based on most of the images that have been made up withy vectors which have lead through locations called control points Each of the pictures have a definite position of an x and y axes Each photo ahs a track which can be assigned a colour , shape a thickness this wouldn't affect the size of the file.

The common file types are BMP, JPEG, GIF, PICT, PCX and TIFF. Bitmap A bitmap is a map of dots which does look like a picture if you are only sitting a far distance away from the screen The common file types are BMP, JPEG, GIF, PICT, PCX and TIFF.

Photo manipulation A photo manipulation is something that you can edit the techniques to your photographs so you will be able to create and illusion or deception.

Converting files

Converting files There are different reasons to converting files one of the main reasons is most websites that you go on they require certain files to use like: BMP, PDF, GIF, JPEG. Also some files don’t take up as much space as the other files so when you do save files you are saving a lot of spaces.JPEG is widely used by the web or by any email services but its mainly used for digital photography but other files like GIF works a lot better for pixels.

The different types of files BMP- BITMAP IMAGE FILE- BMP is a graphics format that is usually used a simply graphics files which formats on Microsoft Windows platform, if you wanted to convert BMP files to other formats like TIFF,JPEG,PNG,PCD etc this converts BMP images in groups and it give you other opinions for resizing, rotating. PNG-PORTABLE NETWORK GRAPHICS – PNG is a lossless bitmap image format that is popular world wide and it has a large developed to deal with some of the shortcomings of an GIF format and it allows storage of images with a lot greater colour depth. GIF-GRAPHICS INTERCHARGE FORMAT – GIF format was developed in the 1987 so it would replace the earlier RLE which was only black and white, nowadays GIF is now widely used on the world wide web (www) which is still used for images and for animations. JPEG- JOINT PHOTOGRAPHIC EXPERTS GROUP – JGEP is a method that is standard for compressing photographic images, JPEG/JFIF is mostly used for storing any images from the world wide web but this is not suited for any line drawings pr any other textual or iconic graphics. JPEG has been established standard of plenty of software available which is including free software.
