Overview What is scholarly identity? Why do we care? How do we use tools to enhance/create scholarly identity?

What is scholarly identity? Who are you as a scholar? What do you do? Impact How influential are you? How often is your work cited? How important is it to the field? Reputation How do other view you and your work?

Why be concerned with your scholarly identity? Why people use scholarly identity management systems? Find relevant literature Document and verify sources Identify collaborators, students, advisors, reviewers, etc. Disseminate your works Interact with peers Monitor the literature (e.g., follow or discover people and papers) Evaluate people and works Add and modify metadata about you and your works Look for jobs
