Thanksgiving Day Celebration in United States
Presentation transcript:

What is it? Black Friday is a day considered as the beginning of the Christmas shopping season in the United States. It is a day of great discounts.

When is it? The day after Thanksgiving day.  In fact its date changes every year!

Origin of the name… According to some people, it refers to the notes on the books of traders who traditionally passed from the red ink (losses) to black ink (gains), so Black Friday is a day retailers make profit

Yesterday The first Black Friday was in 1924 in New York when “Macy’s”, a department store, organized a parade during Thanksgiving day to launch a big advertising campaign.

Today Nowadays, even in  countries that do not celebrate Thanksgiving day, Black Friday is becoming very popular and most retailers  partecipate this fun shopping day by offering promotional sales. Diana e Tomei IE
