Nursery Helpers (Birth – 18 months) Carry a baby out OR, if an evacuation crib is available, place them in the crib and wheel out through the main entrance If all babies have all already been evacuated, proceed downstairs and help evacuate the children Lisa Chu & Minda Eng

Early Childhood Helpers (19 months – kindergarten) Toddlers through kindergarten are lined up single file Each child holding onto the “Travel Rope” One adult is posted at the front; one adult at the back Teachers will lead them to the designated “Holding Area” (gather around the school sign) Report to the Incident Commander Jon Gee & Jason Chan

Classroom Check… The adult who is at the back of the “Line” is responsible to: - Take quick head count of class and compare to attendance roster. - Take the attendance roster from the room. - Be the last one to leave the room, checking that it is completely unoccupied. - Turn off the lights and shut the doors, making sure the doors are unlocked. - Check the attendance roster at the “Holding Area” and account for all children.

Outside the Building … Lead children to the designated “Holding Area”, which is located across Orcas Street in the open field of Dearborn Park International School. Adults will group children together by grade and keep them calm. Keep all “Fire Lanes” (the areas marked in yellow) clear for Fire Department access.

Returning To Classrooms … If a parent wishes to take their child, encourage the parent to wait until the emergency is over and the children have returned to class and all are accounted for. Re-enter the building ONLY when and if the proper authority gives permission (Police, Fire Personnel, or Pastor). Re-enter in similar procedure as exiting: single file, adult in front, adult in back. Check the attendance roster in the classroom and account for all children.
