What are case studies? It is a student-centred activity that involves the study of a topic that raises issues or problems for analysis. Advantages bridges the gap between theory and practice. Develops skills and knowledge Research shows students can learn more effectively

Why use case studies? student-centred learning (based on variety of activities ) Exposes students to real-world issues Increases motivation and interest Leads to interactive learning strategy Uses diverse learning styles and encourage adaptability

Examples of case study formats Single-session case study illustrate key theoretical concept(s) in the context of a real-world example. Multiple-session group case study Develop students’ key skills and knowledge of a topic while also covering theoretical concepts. Requires several weeks and provide a good opportunity to incorporate a variety of activities and assessment strategies.
