1) Creation

26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. 28 And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth. . 2) Procreation

3) Vocation

1. Work is an Expression of Our Obedience to God

6 Go to the ant, thou sluggard; consider her ways, and be wise: 7 Which having no guide, overseer, or ruler, 8 Provideth her meat in the summer, and gathereth her food in the harvest. [Proverbs 6:6-8] Diligence & Industry

For even when we were with you, this we commanded you, that if any would not work, neither should he eat. [2 Thessalonians 3:10]

2. Work is Sacred And the Lord God took the man, and put him into the garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it. [Genesis 2:15]

3. Work is a Means to Glorify God

Work of Good Deeds Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven. [Matthew 5:16]

Work of Good Character & Conduct Having your conversation honest among the Gentiles: that, whereas they speak against you as evildoers, they may by your good works, which they shall behold, glorify God in the day of visitation. [1 Peter 2:12]

In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. [Genesis 1:1]

3 Principles of Work

1) Perfection [Excellence] And God saw every thing that He had made, and, behold, it was very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day. [Genesis 1:31]

1) Perfection [Excellence] Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might; for there is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in the grave, whither thou goest. [Ecclesiastes 9:10]

1) Perfection [Excellence] If the work is worth doing, Do it well for God’s Glory

1) Perfection [Excellence] God deserves nothing less than the BEST

To the Work!

That our Master has trod To the work! To the work! We are servants of God Let us follow the path That our Master has trod 1/12

With the balm of His counsel Our strength to renew Let us do with our might What our hands find to do 2/12

3) Admiration / Appreciation 1 Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them. 2 And on the seventh day God ended His work which He had made; and He rested on the seventh day from all His work which He had made. 3 And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it He had rested from all His work which God created and made. [Genesis 2:1-3]

3) Admiration / Appreciation It is a sign between Me and the children of Israel for ever: for in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, and on the seventh day He rested, and was refreshed. [Exodus 31:17]

Enjoy Your Work Lo, I come: in the volume of the book it is written of Me, I delight to do Thy will, O my God. [Psalm 40:7-8]

Give Me Thy Best!

Hear ye the Master’s call “Give Me thy best!” For, be it great or small That is His test 1/9

Every work for Jesus will be blest But He asks from everyone his best Our talents may be few, these may be small But unto Him is due our best, our all 3/9
