Teach Me Your Paths Psalms 25:1-7

Seek Refuge In God Teach Me Your Paths – Psalm 25:1- 7

“To you, O LORD, I lift up my soul “To you, O LORD, I lift up my soul. O my God, in you I trust;” (Psalm 25:1–2)

Psalm 24:4 “Keep your life free from love of money, and be content with what you have, for he has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” So we can confidently say, “The Lord is my helper; I will not fear; what can man do to me?”” (Hebrews 13:5–6, ESV)

“O my God, in you I trust; let me not be put to shame; let not my enemies exult over me.” (Psalm 25:2)

Romans 5:5 “For they shall be ashamed of the oaks that you desired; and you shall blush for the gardens that you have chosen.” (Isaiah 1:29, ESV) “Then they shall be dismayed and ashamed because of Cush their hope and of Egypt their boast.” (Isaiah 20:5, ESV)

But why should David be concerned about God not being with him?

Enemies “Consider how many are my foes, and with what violent hatred they hate me.” (Psalm 25:19, ESV)

Sins “Remember not the sins of my youth or my transgressions; according to your steadfast love remember me, for the sake of your goodness, O Lord!” (Psalm 25:7, ESV) “Consider my affliction and my trouble, and forgive all my sins.” (Psalm 25:18, ESV)

Can you relate?

1 Peter 5:8

James 1:12-15 “for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,” (Romans 3:23, ESV)

What if my enemies are too strong?

What if my sins are too great?

God is faithful!

“Indeed, none who wait for you shall be put to shame; they shall be ashamed who are wantonly treacherous.” (Psalm 25:3)

2 Timothy 1:8-12 “You, however, have followed my teaching, my conduct, my aim in life, my faith, my patience, my love, my steadfastness, my persecutions and sufferings that happened to me at Antioch, at Iconium, and at Lystra—which persecutions I endured; yet from them all the Lord rescued me.” (2 Timothy 3:10–11, ESV)

Have you sought refuge in God?

Have you admitted your need for Him?

You need to draw on God’s strength!

Psalm 1:1-2 “All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.” (2 Timothy 3:16–17, ESV)

Jeremiah 6:16

James 1:5 “Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might.” (Ephesians 6:10, ESV) “Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth.” (2 Timothy 2:15, ESV)

Are you diligently seeking God’s guidance?

Psalm 103:17 “The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.” (Lamentations 3:22–23, ESV) “And his mercy is for those who fear him from generation to generation.” (Luke 1:50, ESV)

“Remember not the sins of my youth or my transgressions; according to your steadfast love remember me, for the sake of your goodness, O LORD!” (Psalm 25:7)

Do you remember God’s mercy?
