Anatomy of the breast (diagrammatic sagittal section) Anatomy of the breast (diagrammatic sagittal section). The ductal system extends from the nipple to multiple lobes of terminal-duct lobular units (TDLUs) branching in a treelike fashion. The TDLU is the site of origin for most breast carcinomas.
