TEDDY BEAR IN RUDA-HUTA, POLAND

Hello. I’m a Polish Teddy Bear and I will be your guide Hello! I’m a Polish Teddy Bear and I will be your guide. I will show you my municipality – Ruda-Huta, my school and the capital city of my county – Chełm. 

Ruda-Huta is a community located on the Polish-Ukrainian border in Chełm County.

We live in neighbourhood of the Bug River – the border river of Poland and the European Union. One of the wildest rivers in Europe.

The municipality of Ruda-Huta is proud of the fact that one of the greatest trees in Europe grows here.

It is believed that in 1018 the Polish king Boleslaw the Brave had a rest in the shadow of more than a thousand-year-old oak called Bolko.

Last year Bolko won the title of the Polish Tree of the Year and it took the fourth place in the European Tree of the Year competition. 

The oak’s name-day party, called Bolkowanie that is celebrated annually in August, attracts thousands of people.

This is a windmill built before the WWII that is located in our municipality.

Here are some photos of this semester activities that we took part in. We don’t get bored at school. There are a lot of different activities in which we participate, such as red-letter days, school trips, feasts, bike excursions, etc. Here are some photos of this semester activities that we took part in.

We commemorated the anti-communist Polish resistance movement.

In March we went on education fair to see the offer of secondary schools in our town.

Walking around Chełm 

Our classmate Mateusz won the 3rd place in the district competition of English history and culture.

Chełm is a city in eastern Poland and it is a capital city of our county. We live a few kilometres from Chełm.

My friend, the White Bear, is a symbol of Chełm. 

There are a lot of bears in the town.

Chełm has got an old chalk mine. A ghost called Bieluch lives there. ;)
