F-dpch AND SRB ON HSDPA FEATURE INTRODUCTION Advantage: The SRB on HSDPA feature provides faster signaling in the downlink, which results in a decrease in time for RAB establishment and other transitions, such as PDP Context Activation time, Speech Call Setup time, Cell Change time and Channel Switching. Disadvantage: Having moved the SRB flow to HS, the signaling is only carried over the HS-DSCH serving cell. Thus, the SRB is not subjected to soft/softer handover. As a result, there is a risk of increased number of drops with SRB on HS.
