Christmas cake Ingredients 2 cups sifted cake flour, plus more for dusting 1/2 teaspoon baking powder 1 teaspoon freshly grated nutmeg 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves 4 teaspoons ground cinnamon Pinch of kosher salt 1-1/2 cups unsalted butter (3 sticks), at room temperature, plus more for greasing 1-2/3 cups granulated sugar 4 large eggs, at room temperature 3 large egg yolks, at room temperature, lightly beaten 2 teaspoons vanilla extract 1 tablespoon powdered sugar (optional)
