About the Professional Irish Women of Chicago & Chicago Rose Center The Chicago Rose of Tralee is a part of the Rose of Tralee International Festival, held annually in County Kerry, Ireland. The festival began in 1959, taking its inspiration from a 19th century love song, The Rose of Tralee, by William Mulchinock. It has since grown to become one of Ireland’s biggest and most beloved festivals, and is celebrated in Irish communities around the globe. Rte’s live coverage of the Rose Selection has helped install the festival in the national psyche, and it has remained their top rating show for many years, with millions tuning in every year for the result. The Rose of Tralee International Festival aims to connect the global Irish community through a selection of young women who reflects the intelligence, compassion and independence of Modern Irish Women. With that said, the Chicago Rose Center has created The Professional Irish Women of Chicago Organization this year, 2017 to strengthen the Chicago Center and provide opportunities for Irish women to network and inspire one another in their professional lives.
