ABB i-bus® KNX Energy Module and Energy Actuator Energy Module EM/S3.16.1 Measures energy consumption for each channel Measures instrument and power values Monitoring with threshold values Load Control (Master) Energy Actuator SE/S3.16.1 In addition to the functions of the EM/S: Functionality of the ABB i-bus® KNX Switch Actuators Load Control Master and Slave © ABB 20 May 2018 | Slide 2

ABB i-bus® KNX EM/S 3.16.1 Energy Module The Energy Module faciliates a detailed and transparent insight into the energy consumption of a building. Measure energy consumption down to the consumer level. The energy consumption is measured for each channel and for the total device. Every meter is assigned with an intermediate meter for individual measuring tasks. Monitoring of Instrument and Power Values Active Power, Current, Voltage, Frequency and further values are available Load Control The Energy Module can control up to 10 Energy Actuators. © ABB 20 May 2018 | Slide 3

ABB i-bus® KNX EM/S 3.16.1 Energy Module Application Active consumption measurement Monitoring of electrical values Benefits Recording and representation of energy consumption of individual consumers Enhancement of the Energy Efficiency Product Energy Module EM/S 3.16.1 © ABB 20 May 2018 | Slide 4

ABB i-bus® KNX SE/S 3.16.1 Energy Actuator The Energy Actuator faciliates additionally to the functions of the Energy Module control of the connected consumer loads. Switch reactions depending on thresholds, metering values and events For every channel, the proven functionality of the ABB i-bus® KNX Switch Actuators is available. The outputs can be configured as slaves in the Load Control Instrument and Power Values can be monitored with thresholds. © ABB 20 May 2018 | Slide 5

ABB i-bus® KNX Functional Overview 20 May 2018 | Slide 7

ABB i-bus® KNX Individual Functions Meters For every channel, the active energy consumption is measured continuously by a meter (Meter A...C). The total consumption is also available (Meter total) The meter values can be sent cyclically, on request or when a start or stop event occurs. © ABB 20 May 2018 | Slide 8

ABB i-bus® KNX Individual Functions Meters Every meter is assigned with an intermediate meter, which can be parameterized for individual measuring tasks. Each of the intermediate meters can be started by 1 bit objects or at a certain time received Stopping by 1 bit object, time, duration or limit © ABB 20 May 2018 | Slide 9

ABB i-bus® KNX Individual Functions Instrument Values Current, Voltage, Frequency Power Values Active Power, Apparent Power Further Values Crest Factor Current, Power Factor © ABB 20 May 2018 | Slide 10

ABB i-bus® KNX Individual Functions Load Control SE/S or EM/S can be parameterized as Load Control Master. Up to 10 Energy Actuators can be parameterized as slaves. The Master receives Power Values from the slaves which are summed up internally to the Power total. If the power total exceeds a parameterized load limit, the master sends up to eight load shedding stages on the bus. If a slave receives the shedding stage, it switches all outputs off with the respective shedding stage. © ABB 20 May 2018 | Slide 11
