Maintained by USF World and at USF Health. All student international travel must be registered with EAO or USF Health and must be authorized by USF World. Student travel is any undergraduate or graduate student or University recognized student group, and the associated University and University Direct Support Organization ("DSO") employees and University System appointed volunteers engaged in any international travel conducted as part of a USF program requirement, elective, research project, service learning or any international activity tied to an individual’s status as an active USF student, regardless of the source of funding for the travel.

INTERNATIONAL RISK AND SECURITY STUDENT PREDEPARTURE ORIENTATIONS The online orientation is very comprehensive but it is a general orientation and does not replace the need for a face-to-face orientations. They also receive a comprehensive Student Guide aligned with the course chapters. The online orientation is graded and we encourage it is a part of the grading scheme Travel Matters – Resources and planning Health Matters – Health Form, Pre-existing Conditions, Mental Health, Using UHCG Security Matters – Personal safety, vigilance, responding to an incident

INTERNATIONAL RISK AND SECURITY ASSOCIATE TRAVELER ORIENTATIONS Both orientations are face-to-face. IRSO is offered by IRSO Team. Title IX and Clery is offered jointly by Title IX Office and USFPD. Required every 2 years with refresher on off years Mental Health Component provided by USF Counseling Center Staff Weaves together University policies, state law and federal law and how they can be applied internationally University Audit and Compliance review

Pre-departure Orientation is Online Medical Forms are submitted confidentially and reviewed by Health Services 24/7 International Assistance Line is available also using other social media platforms such as WhatsApp, Skype, text, Email Students have access via apps to US Department of State and UHCG risk assessments and resources – just a swipe away Attention is now more than ever being focused on students studying abroad and best practices to keep them safe. This includes more reports from reliable sources such as the U.S. Department of State and CDC.

INTERNATIONAL RISK AND SECURITY BEING A FIRST RESPONDER AS OPPOSED TO STUDENT My background as a student certainly helped prepare me for my new role. However, from my new perspective, I would not ever want to go back to the way things were done. 24/7 support means I am usually awake well past 3:00 am I rely on a vast network of support from Health Services, Counseling Center, general Council, Disability Services, UHCG, USFPD and more Preparation is so much more important than many perceive Murphy’s Law is not my friend
