Newsletter Class One Class Two Class Three Class Four www.ourladystmarysfederation.co.uk office@st-marysrc.worcs.sch.uk St Mary’s Catholic Primary Newsletter 26th May 2017 Class One This week class 1 have harvested their potatoes, spring onions and lettuce. We had fun searching for the potatoes, grouping the onions and selling them at the end of the day.  . Class Two Class 2 have been looking at the story of the ‘Prodigal Son’. They got into groups of three and performed the story to the class. They have been looking at animals in Science and finding out about different habitats and food chains. Class Three This week class 3 have focused on Art/RE. Inspired by the painting chosen by ‘Sister Wendy Beckett’ a special prayer book – They have produced their own interpretations of these pictures. Class Four This week, class 4 have had fun and interesting Science week. We have bee investing sound; learning all about pitch, volume and vibrations. We have carried out a range of experiments from making a basic telephone and musical instrument, to using a sound meter. Year 5 & 6 attending the Good Shepherd Mass at Worcester.

We finally got the chance to wear our new shirts which were sponsored by the Friends of St Mary’s last year. We were competing against 14 other schools and we did ourselves proud by trying our best and not giving up. We managed to make the final of the U9 boys relay, U11 girls 100m sprint and the boys U9 80m sprint. More on that in our next blog! Children aged 9-13 are encouraged up to sing in this concert. There will be rehearsals on the morning of July 24th before the concert in the afternoon, and prior rehearsals on Sunday 16th July, 10am-3pm, at King’s School Worcester. Please note that for the rehearsal day on July 16th participants will need to bring packed lunches. They were joined by celebrities including Usain Bolt, Paloma Faith and Daniel Radcliffe. The day was the first of its kind in the UK and thousands of school children participated from across the country.
