Criminal Justice Dual Credit Option

Why Dual Credit? Students will get a head start towards the Associates in Arts Degree with a Field of Study in Criminal Justice. The AA can lead towards a BA in Criminology at UT Dallas or a BAAS in Criminal Justice at the University of North Texas.

Students earn both high school and college credit. 12 hours of college credit will be earned between junior and senior years. Dual Credit classes will be offered on Creekview’s campus during the school day.

2015-2016 Starting next school year, Law Academy students will have 2 options in the Law Academy Program. Traditional Dual Credit

What classes do we take for Traditional pathway?

Traditional Freshman Year- Foundations/Principles Sophomore Year- Law Enforcement or Court Systems Junior Year- Elective or Forensic Science Senior Year- TIP/ AP or dual credit Government/ Forensic Science (if not previously taken)/Community Service

What classes do we take for Dual Credit pathway?

Dual Credit Option Freshman Year- Foundations/Principles Sophomore Year- Forensic Science (need to be in Chemistry also) Junior Year- Dual Credit Intro to Criminal Justice (Fall) Crime in America (Spring) Senior Year- Dual Credit Court Systems & Practices (Fall) Fundamentals of Criminal Law (Spring) TIP/ AP or dual credit Government

Steps to Dual Credit Program All interested student will be required to apply to Brookhaven College.  The Brookhaven process is a five-step process: Apply online Get a transcript Proof of meningitis vaccination Residency verification Testing scores on SAT, ACT, TSI Brookhaven has final approval for student placements in the courses.
